GBTA makes official the acquisition of ACTE
GBTA (Global Business Travel Association) has just formalized the acquisition of the other major association of the business travel industry, ACTE. (Association of Corporate Travel Executives) The association has reached a critical situation in recent months due to the health crisis.
“We are more than delighted to bring GBTA and ACTE together, creating a single venue for thousands of corporate travel professionals who together will make business travel bigger and better than ever,” said Bhart Sarin, President of GBTA.
“The addition of an amazing brand like ACTE will give GBTA members the best training, networking, research, and advocacy opportunities. We look forward to combining the best attributes of both associations with our new “Ready. Safe. Travel” as we continue to champion the recovery path for business travel,” said Dave Hilfman, GBTA’s Interim Executive Director.
As part of the integration effort, two former ACTE board members will join the GBTA Global board with immediate effect. Alison Taylor, Chief Customer Officer of American Airlines, will assume the remainder of the ALC Vice Presidency. Steve Sitto, Managing Director, Global Travel and Events for Tesla, Inc. will serve the remainder of the term as Direct Member-At-Large term. Both terms will be formalized at the GBTA Convention in July 2021.

“This very challenging year has presented us with a unique opportunity,” said Sarin. “We look forward to creating the best association in the world for travel professionals to learn, network and grow”.
The organizational chart has already been adapted through the integration of the two former ACTE board members mentioned above.
